Somewhat of a departure for Vhom, as Vhom releases tend to be built less organically with electronics hardware and software. Firmamvnt picks up sonically where Borley Rectory finished, with a smoldering landscape of heavy drones and guitar improvisation that sounds cursed and diseased. Originally recorded for a cassette release that was cancelled, then issued on a very limited edition CD-R run at Milieu Music in 2010, and now out of print. Firmamvnt is possibly, in some respects, the most accessible Vhom album, taking cues from albums recorded as Brian Grainger, such as A Giant Hand and Nine Billion Names, while also foreshadowing releases such as Diamond Tears On Slate and One Bleak Try. This album would also appeal to fans of VCV recordings Brian has released with David Tagg.
